Fichtiart 2024 showed that there can be a future for our past...

Four days, three monuments of our architectural heritage, forty Greek and foreign artists, visual arts, theatre, music, dance, interactive performances, architecture, 2,000 participants and a magical closing evening with the participation of the Mayor of Argos Yiannis Maltezos and the Swiss Ambassador to Greece Stefan Estermann is the report of this year's FichtiArt 2024...

... a European Art Festival that started in 2021 wanting to answer the question "how civil society, through Art, can highlight and protect the unique architectural heritage of the Argolis, its almost untouched natural environment and create a shared vision of cultural and environmental sustainability.

This year the Festival transformed the abandoned railway stations of Mycenae, Myloi and Argos into vibrant cultural hubs and joined forces with the Hellenic Society for Environment and Culture in the vision of reactivating the historic Peloponnese railway.

The closing of the curtain at the emblematic station of Argos also highlighted an aspect that the previous editions of the Festival did not have. The active contribution of the local government. A citizens' initiative was embraced by the present Municipal authority which transformed the neglected and abused Argos Station, an architectural jewel, into a clean space that hosted a magical evening.

"A future for our past" is the slogan of the Festival and our shared, hopefully now, vision.

Thank you!
